Gatherer…scavenger…harvester of rubbish and treasures…
Longing to pick up what has fallen and others have passed by. Yearning to recover what has been unnoticed or discarded, to recognise beauty in a fragment of glass, a pine cone, a rusted tin can. Desiring transformation, and to encourage others to look in a new way.
Gather the fragments.
Treasures are scattered on scarred pavements, fall on forest floors, and they pour from your soul in torrents.
Gather your fragments. Hold them to the light. Open to transformation.
Some other time I’ll write about this in more depth, but I thought you might like to see some photos of a doll I made a few years ago out of old books. I wanted to reflect on trusting that what is needed will be provided and set up a little project where in different seasons I would clothe her in natural things I found lying around. She’s now dressed in a pilgrim outfit of shells and hand made red shoes which I’ll show another day, but here she is in gathered outfits from spring, summer and winter (sorry – lost autumn somehow!).
